Tug Hill Yeti Quest 2026

The Tug Hill Yeti Quest is back this winter with three fun race options:

  • 8 hour classic ski and snowshoe race
  • 8 hour snowshoe race
  • 3 hour ski and/or snowshoe race (switch between skis and snowshoes whenever you want, or just ski or snowshoe the whole course, it’s up to you!)

Tug Hill Extreme Adventure 2026

Saturday, May 30th – Sunday, May 31st – Boonville, NY USARA Regional Qualifier

The Tug Hill Extreme Adventure will have 2 awesome race options:

  • 24 hour adventure race that includes biking on roads and trails, flat water paddling, and lots of our signature off trail navigation and strategy!
  • 6 – 10 hour adventure race that includes biking, paddling, and trekking, ideal for newer adventure racers, but will still challenge experienced racers to complete the course.

Tug Hill Extreme Adventure

Typically takes place the first weekend in June. Check out photos and videos from prior races on Adventure Racing Inisder.

This is our biggest adventure race. It’s held annually on the Tug Hill Plateau, and usually includes a shorter family friendly race as well as a longer race ranging from 10 – 24 hours for more experienced racers. You’ll navigate trails and remote woods to find hidden checkpoints using only a map and compass. Teams of 1-4 people. Distances and race location vary from year to year. Disciplines will include mountain biking, trekking, and paddling. The race is part of the ARWS NA circuit and is a USARA points race. If you’re training for a longer adventure race or are new to the sport, these races have something for everyone!

Tug Hill Fall Adventure Challenge (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) – Annual Fall Event)

Typically takes place in late September – Mid October. The next race is planned for Fall 2025.

This is our race geared towards newcomers to the sport of adventure racing, and families looking to get outdoors and have some fun! You’ll race through the woods with only a map and compass to see how many checkpoints/hidden flags you can find before time runs out.

Tug Hill Yeti Quest

Typically takes place the last weekend in January. The next Yeti Quest is scheduled for January 2026.

This fun, winter, yeti themed adventure race takes typically takes place annually and is held on the Tug Hill Plateau. The event typically includes a longer race (8 – 12 hours) for more experienced racers that includes cross country skiing and snowshoeing, and a shorter, family friendly race (3 – 5 hours) with ski or snowshoe options. Teams will navigate the course using only a map and compass, no GPS allowed, and compete to see who can find the most checkpoints in the least amount of time. If teams don’t make it back before the time cut-off, they will lose 1 checkpoint for every minute they’re late. Team sizes can range from 1-6 people (cap of 4 people for adult teams, but families can race with up to 6 people).This race has something for everyone, from families and newcomers, to competitive adventure racers and orienteering teams who are looking for a fun challenge in a cool place!
